HATS OFF TO THIS DUTY-PRONE MAN
This is the man who in reality towed DHD 1817, the car that belonged to Mrs. Indira Gandhi, the Prime Minister of India, in August 1982.
Earlier, it was mythically and wrongly believed that it was Kiran Bedi, who showed exemplary guts in towing the Prime Minister’s car. Kiran Bedi’s towing of car and that too of the then Prime Minister of India was a clear cut case of social mythology related to some personality cult.
The myth has been now completely busted and it is now clearly evidenced as through an interview given by Nirmal Singh, the man who himself towed the car bearing registration number DHD 1817, the then Sub-inspector of Delhi Police who was working under Kiran Bedi at that time.
