WE ARE NOT OUR TRUE SELVES
As we move further from our feather-like childhood to rough and tough adulthood, we usually get mechanical or unaware not only about others or the world around us but also about our own selves. A kind of self-forgetfulness takes grim hold of our minds, thus letting negative traits take full control of our minds. For us such detrimental change in our attitude and character is normal but it is a mistaken reality. Such change in our personality which makes us easily angered, dishonest, crooked, sly, wicked, manipulative, and destructive doesn’t come on its own, rather it is us who are wholly and solely responsible for it – consciously or unconsciously. We never take stock of our personalities i.e what kind of thoughts we are storing in our minds or how these thoughts are influencing our lives. Unless and until we get stubbornly serious about our lives, nothing beneficial and life-elevating is going to happen.
Have you ever tried to strip yourself of all manipulation, deception, meanness, selfishness, wickedness, crookedness, cockiness, your thought after thought, passion after passion till you reaches your inmost depth of cleanheartedness, sincere loveliness, clean conduct, generous attitude, unconditional love and compassion for the people in pain i.e what you were before learning street smartness? If by doing such self layer-by-layer peeling off your sedimented character, you don’t come face to face with your grand true self or with your greater self full of the genuineness of your spirit, devoid of any human vices, and you don’t experience the meanness and pettiness of your character and see the grandness and magnificence of the Great Almighty, then it would mean that you still didn’t come out of animalistic passions, you are still carrying the dregs of lower consciousness but not the rising waves of super consciousness.
